My grandmother sums up the above verse with, "What is, is; what isn't, isn't. Blessed be the Lord." She repeats this often, but I find her attitude to be remarkable, considering her many health problems and other troubles she's experienced in her more than 80 years. Those who have learned to joyfully depend upon God, no matter their circumstances, are good Christian role models.

Learning to be Content...
Scripture: "I have learned how to be content with whatever I have."(Philippians 4:11)

No One Ever Cared For Me...
song lyrics:
I would love to tell you what I think of Jesus,
Since I found in Him a friend so strong and true.
I would love to tell you ,
how He changed my life completely;
He did something that no other friend could ever do.
No one ever cared for me like Jesus;
There's no other friend so kind as He.
No one else could take the sin
And darkness from me;
O how much He cared for me.
my life was full of sin when Jesus found me;
All my heart was full of pain and woe,
but Jesus placed His strong arms about me
And He led me in the way I ought to go.
No one ever cared for me like Jesus;
There's no other friend so kind as He.
No one else could take the sin
And darkness from me;
O how much He cared for me.
Ev'ry day He comes to me with new assurance;
More and more I understand His word of love.
But I'll never know just why He came to save me,
Till someday I see His blessed face above.
No one ever cared for me like Jesus;
There's no other friend so kind as He.
No one else could take the sin
And darkness from me;

WATCH OUT...
63-0323 THE.SIXTH.SEAL_ JEFFERSONVILLE.IN SATURDAY_
Now, I want to say this; I suppose the tapes are off. Lot of people
say, "Brother Branham, with a ministry of that type..." I have to watch,
'cause people just take them tapes and just try to pick them to pieces,
you know. So when they say, "Brother Branham, wish we had a
ministry..." You don't know what you're saying. You... Honest, you don't
know what goes with it, brothers, sisters. Oh, my, and the
responsibility, when you got people that hangs to what you say...
435 Remember, if you tell them wrong, God will require their blood
at your hands. Then you think of that. It's a terrific thing; so be
lovely.
LET ME WALK WITH YOU JESUS..
song lyrics:
I
I'VE BEEN ON THE MOUNTAIN WITH JESUS,
I'VE BEEN IN THE VALLEY SO LOW
BUT NEVER ONE TIME HAS HE FAILED ME
WHEN TO HIM WITH MY BURDENS I GO.
CHORUS
SO LET ME WALK WITH YOU JESUS
DON'T EVER LEAVE ME ALONE
FOR WITHOUT YOU I KNOW I COULD NEVER,
NO NEVER, MAKE HEAVEN MY HOME.
II
YOU FOUND ME WHEN I WAS SO LONELY
LORD YOU FOUND ME WHEN I WAS SO BLUE
YOU FOUND ME WHEN NO ONE COULD HELP ME
WHEN NO ONE JUST KNEW WHAT TO DO.
III
IF I HAD THE RICHES OF THIS WORLD
IF I HAD ALL THAT MONEY COULD BUY
AND I HAD NOT THE LOVE OF MY SAVIOR
I'D RATHER BE DEAD THAN ALIVE.
I
I'VE BEEN ON THE MOUNTAIN WITH JESUS,
I'VE BEEN IN THE VALLEY SO LOW
BUT NEVER ONE TIME HAS HE FAILED ME
WHEN TO HIM WITH MY BURDENS I GO.

In The Garden...
song lyrics:
I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses
And the voice I hear, falling on my ear
The Son of God discloses
And he walks with me
And he talks with me
And he tells me I am His own
And the joy we share as we tarry there
None other has ever known
He speaks and the sound of His voice
Is so sweet the birds hush their singing
And the melody that He gave to me
Within my heart is ringing
And he walks with me
And he talks with me
And he tells me I am His own
And the joy we share as we tarry there
None other has ever known
I'd stay in the garden with Him
'Tho the night around me be falling
But He bids me go; through the voice of woe
His voice to me is calling
And He walks with me
And He talks with me
And He tells me I am His own
And the joy we share as we tarry there
None other has ever known
I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses
And the voice I hear, falling on my ear
The Son of God discloses
And he walks with me
And he talks with me
And he tells me I am His own
And the joy we share as we tarry there

And Be Stoled Away...
Like in the days of Moses, only One in a
Million will make it to the Promised Land... when the Lord will come to
steal away His Bride! [1 Thesssalonians 4:15-18]
-In 2010, there were approximately 2 billion Christians... that is only 2,000 people who would be carried away.
-There are 196 countries in the world. That is an average of about 10 people per country.
-2,300 people go missing every day... in the United States alone.
The Rapture could come, and the world, even the church members, wouldn't even know it!!!! The number is so few, we should be spending every moment of free time we have communing with the Lord!!! Stay in Prayer. Don't give up the fight.

Lack of vision
Many years
ago a young man went to work at a hardware store. He found all sorts of junk
that took up space but did not sell well. This clerk asked the owner to allow
him to put it all on one table and sell each item for 10 cents. He did so and
had a successful sale. Later he did the same thing, and had another successful
sale. The clerk approached the owner and suggested that they open up a store
specializing in items that cost only a nicle or a dime. The owner thought it was
a bad idea and refused. The clerk went into business for himself and became very
successful with his idea. His name was F.W. Woolworth. His old employer later
said, "I have calculated that every word I used to turn young Woolworths down
cost me a million dollars."
Drinking from my saucer...
I've never
made a fortune
and it's probably too late now
But I don't worry about that much
I'm happy anyhow
and as I go along life's way
I'm reaping better than I sow
I'm drinking from my saucer
'cause my cup has overflowed
and it's probably too late now
But I don't worry about that much
I'm happy anyhow
and as I go along life's way
I'm reaping better than I sow
I'm drinking from my saucer
'cause my cup has overflowed
Haven't got a lot of riches
and sometimes the going's tough
But I've got loving ones around me
and that makes me rich enough
I thank God for his blessings
and the mercies He's bestowed
I'm drinking from my saucer
'cause my cup has overflowed
and sometimes the going's tough
But I've got loving ones around me
and that makes me rich enough
I thank God for his blessings
and the mercies He's bestowed
I'm drinking from my saucer
'cause my cup has overflowed
O, Remember times when things went wrong
my faith wore somewhat thin
But all at once the dark clouds broke
and sun peeped through again
So Lord, help me not to gripe
about the tough rows that I've hoed
I'm drinking from my saucer
'cause my cup has overflowed
my faith wore somewhat thin
But all at once the dark clouds broke
and sun peeped through again
So Lord, help me not to gripe
about the tough rows that I've hoed
I'm drinking from my saucer
'cause my cup has overflowed
If God gives me strength and courage
when the way grows steep and rough
I'll not ask for other blessings
I'm already blessed enough
And may I never be too busy
to help others bear their loads
Then I'll keep drinking from my saucer
'cause my cup has overflowed
when the way grows steep and rough
I'll not ask for other blessings
I'm already blessed enough
And may I never be too busy
to help others bear their loads
Then I'll keep drinking from my saucer

The Fisherman's Club...
Now it
came to pass that a group existed who called themselves fishermen. And there
were many fish in the waters all around. In fact the whole area was surrounded
by streams and lakes filled with fish. And the fish were hungry.
Week after week, month after month, and year after year, those who called themselves fishermen met in meetings and talked about their call to fish, the abundance of fish, and how they might go about fishing. Year after year they carefully defined what fishing means, defended fishing as an occupation, and declared that fishing is always to be a primary task of fishermen.
These fishermen built large, beautiful buildings for local fishing headquarters. The plea was that everyone should be a fisherman and every fisherman should fish. One thing they didn't do however, they didn't fish.
In addition to meeting regularly, they organised out fishermen to other places where there were many fish. The board was formed by those who had the great vision and courage to speak about fishing, to define fishing, to promote the idea of fishing in faraway streams and lakes where many other fish of different colours lived. Also the board hired staffs and appointed committees and held many meetings to define fishing, to defend fishing, to decide what new streams should be thought about. But the staff and committee members did not fish.
Large, elaborate, and expensive training centres were built whose original and primary purpose was to teach fishermen how to fish. Over the years courses were offered on the needs of fish, the nature of fish, how to define fish, the psychological reactions of fish, and how to approach and feed fish. Those who taught had doctorates in "fishology". But the teachers did not fish. They only taught fishing.
Further, the fishermen built large printing houses to publish fishing guides. Presses were kept busy day and night to produce materials solely devoted to fishing methods, equipment and programmes, to arrange and encourage meetings, to talk about fishing. A speakers' bureau was also provided to schedule special speakers on the subject of fishing.
After one stirring meeting on "The Necessity of Fishing", one young fellow left the meeting and went fishing. The next day he reported that he had caught two outstanding fish. He was honoured for his excellent catch and scheduled to visit all the big meetings possible to tell how he did it. So he quit his fishing in order to have time to tell about the experience to the other fishermen. He was also placed on the Fishermen's General Board as a person having considerable experience.
Now it's true that many of the fishermen sacrificed and put up with all kinds of difficulties. Some lived near the water and bore the smell of dead fish. They received the ridicule of some who made fun of their fishermen's clubs and the fact that they claimed to be fishermen yet never fished. They wondered about those who felt it was of little use to attend and talk about fishing. After all, were they not following the Master who said, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men" (Matt. 4:19)?
Imagine how hurt some were when one day a person suggested that those who didn't fish were not really fishermen, no matter who much they claimed to be. Is a person a fisherman if, year after year he never catches a fish? Is one following, if he isn't fishing?

No Time To Pray??..
I knelt to
pray but not for long,
I had too much to do.
I had to hurry and get to work
For bills would soon be due.
So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,
And jumped up off my knees.
My Christian duty was now done
My soul could rest at ease.
All day long I had no time
To spread a word of cheer.
No time to speak of Christ to friends,
They'd laugh at me I'd fear.
No time, no time, too much to do,
That was my constant cry,
No time to give to souls in need
But at last the time, the time to die.
I went before the Lord,
I came, I stood with downcast eyes.
For in his hands God held a book;
It was the book of life.
God looked into his book and said
"Your name I cannot find.
I once was going to write it down...
But never found the time."
I came, I stood with downcast eyes.
For in his hands God held a book;
It was the book of life.
God looked into his book and said
"Your name I cannot find.
I once was going to write it down...
But never found the time."
Does God Still Speak To Men? ...
A young
man had been to Wednesday night Bible Study. The pastor had shared about
listening to God and obeying the Lord's voice. The young man couldn't help but
wonder, "Does God still speak to people?"
After service he went out with some friends for coffee and pie and they discussed the message.
Several different ones talked about how God had led them in different ways. It was about ten o'clock when the young man started driving home. Sitting in his car, he just began to pray,
"God.. If you still speak to people speak to me. I will listen. I will do my best to obey."
As he drove down the main street of his town, he had the strangest thought, stop and buy a gallon of milk. He shook his head and said out loud, "God is that you?" He didn't get a reply and started on toward home. But again, the thought, buy a gallon of milk. The young man thought about Samuel and how he didn't recognize the voice of God, and how little Samuel ran to Eli. "Okay, God, in case that is you, I will buy the milk." It didn't seem like too hard a test of obedience. He could always use the milk.
He stopped and purchased the gallon of milk and started off toward home. As he passed Seventh street, he again felt the urge, "Turn down that street." This is crazy he thought and drove on pass the intersection. Again, he felt that he should turn down seventh street. At the next intersection, he turned back and headed down Seventh. Half jokingly, he said out loud, "Okay, God, I will". He drove several blocks, when suddenly, he felt like he should stop. He pulled over to the curb and looked around. He was in a semi-commercial area of town. It wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst of neighborhoods either.
The businesses were closed and most of the houses looked dark like the people were already in bed. Again, he sensed something, "Go and give the milk to the people in the house across the street."
The young man looked at the house. It was dark and it looked like the people were either gone or they were already asleep. He started to open the door and then sat back in the car seat. "Lord, this is insane. Those people are asleep and if I wake them up, they are going to be mad and I will look stupid." Again, he felt like he should go and give the milk. Finally, he opened the door, "Okay God, if this is you, I will go to the door and I will give them the milk. If you want me to look like a crazy person, okay. I want to be obedient. I guess that will count for something but if they don't answer right away, I am out of here."
He walked across the street and rang the bell. He could hear some noise inside. A man's voice yelled out, "Who is it? What do you want?" Then the door opened before the young man could get away. The man was standing there in his jeans and t-shirt. He looked like he just got out of bed. He had a strange look on his face and he didn't seem to happy to have some stranger standing on his doorstep.
"What is it?"
The young man thrust out the gallon of milk, "Here, I brought this to you."
The man took the milk and rushed down a hall way speaking loudly in Spanish. Then from down the hall came a woman carrying the milk toward the kitchen. The man was following her holding a baby. The baby was crying. The man had tears streaming down his face. The man began speaking and half crying, "We were just praying. We had some big bills this month and we ran out of money. We didn't have any milk for our baby. I was just praying and asking God to show me how to get some milk."
His wife in the kitchen yelled out, "I ask him to send an Angel with some… Are you an Angel?" The young man reached into his wallet and pulled out all the money he had on him and put in the man's hand. He turned and walked back toward his car and the tears were streaming down his face.
He knew that God still answers prayers and that God still speaks to His people.

Gaining and Losing ..
On one
occasion Sadhu Sundar Singh and a companion were travelling through a pass high
in the Himalayan mountains. At one point they came across a body lying in the
snow. Sundar Singh wished to stop and help the unfortunate man, but his
companion refused, saying, "We shall lose our lives if we burden ourselves with
him." But Sundar Singh would not think of leaving the man to die in the ice and
snow. As his companion bade him farewell, Sundar Singh lifted the poor traveller
on to his back. With great exertion on his part, he bore the man onward, but
gradually the heat from Sundar Singh's body began to warm up the poor frozen
fellow, and he revived. Soon both were walking together side by side. Catching
up with his former companion, they found him dead, frozen by the cold.
In the case of Sundar Singh, he was willing to lose his life on behalf of
another, and in the process found it, in the case of his callous companion, he
sought to save his life but lost it.
A Prophet's Message...
People claim to believe this Message, nearly every tot and tittle.
They say “it’s mostly all the truth, yet all but just a little.”
They say “he said this over here, and that was fine with me.
But over there it’s changed and different, and now I disagree.”
“How could a prophet change his message, and different things he’d say?
I believe he’s clearly a man of God, but many mistakes he made.”
To those, I must stand against you:
This Message wasn’t changed at all, just told in different ways.
Look at Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, and read me what they say.
They’re all God’s Word, though slightly different; they’re still the truth indeed.
God’s living Word can never change; it’s perfect to those who believe.
Let's look at Moses as God to the people, when told to speak to the rock.
Yet he smote it through anger, and disobeyed; flowing water still came as a shock.
ALL that God’s prophet has spoken, has flawlessly come to pass.
Yet still you doubt this Message, and for this I must ask:
How can you claim him a prophet, yet only be partially right?
Such belief is imminent risk of ruin; you’re in grave need of spiritual sight.
You say his teaching is rotten, but his prophesies on the spot?
Whoever heard of such tommyrot? It's either of God or it’s not.
Do not the Scriptures read, that the Word comes only to the prophets, and the prophets are the ONES to tell?
To discredit them is to discredit God; you’re in danger of a burning hell.
So believe we must this perfect Word, from beginning to the end.
Every tote and every tittle, it’s a spotless harmonious blend.
Truly this Message is blinding, to some we surely see.
But to others it’s truth to the very last Word, and with them there is me!
The love letter...
My mom heard this on the radio the other day and thought it
was cute! A professor asked his students one day, to all stand who
believed the Bible. And then to keep standing if you really truly
believe all that the Bible says. The professor then said that he read
the Bible, and felt that those who wrote it were really confused. One
Christian student said that the Bible is God's love letter to
Christians, and that's why he was confused, because he was reading
someone else’s love letter!
Sister Rosanna
That’s even thinner
And she said, "Oh, Mr. Branham!" Said, "If I prove to you... You said
you were fundamental. And if, you, I prove to you, by your own Bible,
that He was not Divine, will you accept it?" I said, "If the Bible said
so, I believe the Bible." She said, "All right, I'll give you your own
Scripture." Said, "Saint John, the 11th chapter. The Bible said, that,
'When Jesus went down to the grave of Lazarus,' the Bible said, 'He
wept.' And He could not weep and be Divine." I said, "Is that the end of
it?" I said, "Is that all you got to say?"
She said, "Yes." I said, "Lady, your argument is thinner than
the broth made out of the shadow of a chicken that starved to death."
Brother Branham
Is there such thing as a witch?
Or it was little Joseph, he said, "Daddy, is there such a thing as a witch?"
I said, "Oh, sure."
He said, "Does she have a long nose, and she rides on a broom at nighttime?"
I said, "No. She has a painted face and rides in a Cadillac to a--a cocktail party." That's the new modern version of it.
And he said, "Is that a witch?" I don't know whether I
should've told him that or not, because every time on the street he sees
one, he says, "Daddy, there's a witch, isn't it?"

God Comes At The Desperate Time...
There may be men and women setting here tonight,
that's, death lays right before you. And the only way that you'll ever
be able to achieve the thing that you're wanting, is to desperately
come. "I must have it, tonight. I get it now, or I'm finished. Tomorrow
is too late. I must have it now!"
When you pray for the baptism of the Holy
Spirit, the Token, don't say, "Well, now I'll go up and try. Lord, I,
I'm a little tired." Oh, mercy, stay in your seat! Don't even--don't
even make an attempt. If you come, say, "I'll pass through the prayer
line; put the oil on my head, I'll see if it does me any good," might as
well set where you're at. Until you get to that place, until the whole
church gets to a place, that it's between death and life, you've got to
have It now or perish, then God will move on the scene. It takes
desperation to bring God on the scene.
63-0901E DESPERATIONS
Expect Him...
Think of some night when life is finished; Jesus
finally comes and we go to meet Him in the air, and that great table is
set a hundred thousand miles long. And around there, the old veterans of
the--the field, setting around, look across the table to each other,
see there my brother and sister setting there. We're just a bound to
shed a little tear once in a while, when I reach across the table and
take one of them by the hand. The tears of joy rolling down our cheeks,
and then the King in His beauty will come out, and walk down along the
table, and wipe the tears away from our eyes. [Blank.spot.on.tape--Ed.]
Let that be our motives in having meetings and gathering together and
talking about Him, let that be what we think of Him, to meet Him that
night.
Look friends, don't look at things right here,
look at the end. If I had to look at things right here in front of me,
I'd be a discouraged person. But I never look here; I watch the end.
55-1001 Expectation
DID U KNOW: Every time you open the Bible, you see a vision!!!!
Someone said to me, not long ago, said, "Brother Branham, I would give anything if I could see a vision."
I put my arm around him, a real brother; I said,
"My beloved brother, every time you open the Bible, you see a vision,
God revealing Himself. Here is God's vision." Just open it up and--open,
say, "God, now open my eyes that I can see You."
55-1004 Come Let Us Reason Together
The Wind Strengthens The Tree...
Every time a wind hits a tree and shoves it back
and forth and back and forth, it only loosens the roots, so it can go
deeper and get a better hold. Every time sickness strikes your home,
every time trials strikes your home, every time the neighbors say
something bad about you, it's only shaking you, loosing you up, so you
can get down and get a better hold on the eternal Rock of God's
unmovable Word. That's how God does it; He sends those trials to test
you, to prove you, to shake you up, and to give you a new hold.
57-0818 Time Tested Memorials Of God
Tension Is A Blessing...
Some people tries to introduce Christianity, that
"you're free from worry. You're..." No, you're not. "You're free from
tension." Oh, no! You add tension when you become a Christian, because
you was kind of a slop--go, happy-go-lucky, whatever it was out there,
not caring what you did. But when you've become a real Christian, every
moment you're wondering, "Am I pleasing my Lord? If I could hear from
Him!" It puts you on tension, puts you on guard. That's what makes you
what you are. So after all, tension is a blessing. It's just the way
you're looking at it.
63-0818 The Uniting Time And Sign
You Can't Pray Too Much...
And if Jesus had to spend much time in prayer to
stay in fellowship with the Spirit that was in Him, how much more do you
and I have to spend in prayer? Much time in prayer. If you only knew
what time in prayer meant. What... Sometimes when you're in prayer, God
changes the--the complete destination of different things that's going
to happen. Do you believe that? Might be something fixing to happen, and
your prayer could change the whole situation.
55-0227E The Healing Of Jairus’ Daughter
When Divine Love Is Projected Sovereign Grace Takes Its Place
Then when you become a son or a daughter of God,
your disposition changes; your attitude changes; your all, your look
towards life and towards others changes. It doesn't mean that you just
have joined church; it means that you have been regenerated. You have
become a new creation in Christ Jesus, that you have... The old things
have passed away, and God has spoken to you, and you have become a new
creature. I want this to go way down even into church members.
Then as you would love to be in the Presence of
Christ, and you become a part of Christ, then people love to become in
your presence, because you become a part of God, son and daughter of
God.
Did you ever see people that you just love to be
in their presence? There's just something about them that just radiates,
that you just love to talk to them. And other people who are nice
people (yet we don't say this unkindly), but you just can't hardly stay
around them. It is because of the atmosphere that you create. For you as
a son of God are a miniature creator, because you are a part of God.
And that's the reason you can believe the Bible for anything It says,
for the Word is God's Word. You being a part of God, will agree with the
Word.
57-0126E When Divine Love Is Projected Sovereign Grace Takes Its Place
See, just pray for them..
And if you want to get somewhere with God, never
let an arrogant spirit ever come around you. Don't let no malice come
in. No matter what anybody does, if they are wrong, don't you never
build up a complex against that person. See? You be sweet and kind.
Remember, God loved you when you were in sin. And if the Spirit of God
is in you, you love the other person when he's in wrong. See, just pray
for them, and love one another. Above everything, love God and love one
another.
63-0714 Humble Thyself
Ain't We Stars..? We Are!!!
What are we today then? We are stars. Every
borned again Christian is a testimony to the Lord Jesus Christ, a star
to reflect the power and holiness of the Lord Jesus: to reflect Him in
His life, to perfect Him in His speech, to perfect Him in His healing
power, to perfect Him in His resurrection, to reflect Him in every way
that He was reflected to us by God the Father. We are stars.
57-1222 The Great Shining Light
Pretty Is As Pretty Does...
But the lily, in its beauty, is life that's making it beautiful, not
some artificial smear on, paint on. Just like our women, I don't think
you have to have all this green, you know, and eye winkers, you know,
out like that, and all that manicure or--or not, I get that stuff mixed
up, all on your face, to make you pretty. Pretty is as pretty does. If
you'll add a little Acts 2:4, mix it all up together, a little John
3:16, it'll beat anything that Max Factor ever did try to fix. See? Your
husband will love you more; everybody else will; and I'm sure God will.

Your Testimony Is Speaking So Loud I Can’t Hear What You Are Saying...
I was helping my little ones take off their shoes in an indoor
playground recently and there was a little girl not over seven years old
in there alone, and she was looking us over.
Then she said so sweetly, “Are you one of those skirt girls that wear skirts all the time?”
I said, “Yes, I am.” (I thought to myself “Oh no, I wonder what’s she going to say next without her mom here?”)
To my astonishment she said, “I like you guys.”
I said, “Well, I like you too. I like your beautiful hair.” (because she had beautiful hair).
She said, “Thanks,” then she said, “I wish I could wear skirts all the time like you.”
I was about to say, “You can if you want too,” when she said,
“When I grow up, I am going to be just like you guys because you get to
be pretty ALL the time!”
I thought, “Wow, Praise the Lord!”
We just never know who we are influencing.

Why Did You Preach So Long?
A man said one day, said, "A minister came up, he had been a pastor
at the church for twenty years. And he always preached just exactly
thirty minutes each Sunday morning at his church." And he said, "This
Sunday morning, he preached three hours."
And so the deacon board called him in, and said, "Pastor, we
really appreciate you." Said, "We always know that--that you stand for
the Bible and Its rights." And said then, "And you always correct us so
we can be feel pure and clean before God. And we really appreciate you,
and we believe you're God's servant. And we certainly did appreciate
that message this morning. But," said, "there is just one thing that we
want to ask you about." Said, "We timed you, as a deacon board." Said,
"Every Sunday morning you're just exactly thirty minutes, and today you
were three hours." Said, "Now, remember, we appreciate every bit of it.
It was all right." Making the old fellow feel good, you know.
He said, "Well, brethren, I'll tell you how it is." Said,
"Every morning when I go to... I'm called to the pulpit," said, "I put
one of those little Life Savers in my mouth," he said, "and I just suck
on it." And said, "When the Life Saver is done," said, "it takes just
thirty minutes," and said, "then I quit preaching." He said, "You know,
this morning, I thought I was a little overtime. I spit it out, I had a
button in my mouth."

Where Exactly?
When I came home from school where I was in grade 1 or maybe
grade 2, I asked mom a question. I asked, where does God live? Mom said,
“He lives in heaven.” I said, “Then why do we pray at school, ‘Our
father, who aren't in heaven...’?”

So do something about it...
The story
is told that a young boy complained to his father that most of the church hymns
were boring - old fashioned, with tiresome tunes and words that meant little to
his generation. His father challenged him with these words: "If you think you
can write better hymns, why don't you?"
The boy accepted the challenge, went to his room and wrote his first hymn.
The year was 1690, and the young man was Isaac Watts. Among his 350 hymns are
"When I survey the Wondrous Cross" and "Joy to the World."
See a problem? Accept the challenge and do something about it yourself.

A man
loved to hunt in the winter. One bitter cold day, the man took his gun, dressed
warmly, and went to hunt deer.As he was walking across the countryside, he came
across the tracks of a deer and began stalking the prey with intensity.
Before long, the tracks went across a frozen creek. It was a rather wide creek
and the man was not too sure the ice would hold him up.He really could not tell
whether the deer was large or small and perhaps the ice could support a deer but
not a man. But he wanted that deer so badly that he decided to chance crossing
the creek.
The hunter got down on his hands and knees and started to crawl across the
creek. When he got about half way across, his imagination started running wild.He
could almost hear the ice cracking and thought he was going to fall through the
ice at any moment. He wanted desperately to go back, but had already come too
far. His heart was palpitating and he felt sure he was lost.
At that moment, the hunter heard a terrible noise. As he looked over his
shoulder, he saw coming across the creek a farmer with a wagon-load of wood. The
wagon and mules were charging across the creek at full steam, and the farmer was
looking down at the hunter as if he was crazy.

Dentist
Dentist
A lady was
very nervous about her appointment with the dentist. Before leaving home she
sought courage by reading the text for the day from her calendar. It was from
Psalms 81 verse 10: "Open your mouth wide and I will fill it."
Pressing on ...
In a far country lived a band of minstrels who travelled from town to town presenting music to make a living. They had not been doing well. Times were hard, there was little money for common folk to come to hear the minstrels, even though their fee was small. Attendance had been falling off and early one evening the group met, to discuss their plight.
"I see no reason for opening tonight," one said. "To make things even worse than they may have been, it is starting to snow. Who will venture out on a night like this?"
"I agree," another disheartened singer said. "Last night we performed for just a handful. Fewer will come tonight. Why not give back their meagre fees and cancel the concert? No one can expect us to go on when just a few are in the audience." "How can anyone do his best for so few?" a third inquired. Then he turned to another sitting beside him. "What do you think?"
The man appealed to was older than the others. He looked straight at his troupe. "I know you are discouraged. I am too. But we have a responsibility to those who might come. We will go on. And we will do the best job of which we are capable. It is not the fault of those who come that others do not. They should not be punished with less than the best we can give."
Heartened by his words, the minstrels went ahead with their show. They never performed better. When the show was over and the small audience gone, the old man called his troupe to him.
In his hand was a note, handed to him by one of the audience just before the doors closed behind him. "Listen to this, my friends!" Something electrifying stopped them in their work. Slowly the old man read: "Thank you for a beautiful performance." It was signed very simply --"Your King."
Do what you can ...
The story
is told of two men who were talking. One of them was huge, the other quite
small. The small man was admiring the size of the larger man. "Boy, if I were as
big as you are, I wouldn't be afraid of nothin'. I'd go out into the woods and
find me the biggest bear there and tear him limb from limb.
The big fellow smiled. "There'e lots of little bears in the woods. Why don't
you go out and tackle one of them?"
This story has a moral that is greatly needed today. Many youth of the church
stand on the sidelines telling what they would do if they had the ability of
someone else.

Story Of A Bride..
I just like them little stories God's prophet always gave as examples/parables. here's another one, be blessed.
GOD'S PROVIDED
WAY 59-0415A
E-49 Reminds me of a little story. Once I... You--all of you know, I used
to herd a few cattle. And I thought I was a genuine cowboy. And so, I remember
at a ranch that we was working on, there was a... The Armour Company owned it,
really, and the cattle out there they was branded, and we grazed them. And so
they was... The story goes... Was before I come on the place. But they had a bunch of young girls, the
rancher did. And they were all these little flippy type girls in them days. I
think we called them "flappers." And now days they're called
"chorus girls," or something. But however, they was a... Flapper
mothers is what brought forth chorus girls. Now, what's the chorus girl going
to bring forth, what I wonder? I'll preach one of these nights on sowing to the
wind and weeping--reaping the whirlwind. That's what we've done.
E-50
Now, notice this. Then before that the... they... The ranch got all
fixed up nice and everything, because the Armour's boy was coming out to visit
the ranch out in the west. And they were going to have a big time. Of course,
all these girls were going to vamp the boss's, the head boss's boy. You know,
they'd marry him. Well then, they understood he was looking for a sweetheart.
So they were all fixed up that night, and they was going to really give him an
old Western reception. And the shooting their guns and having a big time. And
they happened to have a--a girl there, which was a cousin. Her mama was dead,
and her daddy was dead. And she had nowhere to go, so she came to live with her
uncle. And of all that had to do the work, was her. The other girls just stayed
all prettied up all the time, and she had to do all the work.
E-51
You, many of you maybe have had that expan--experience, an orphan. It
reminds me of the Church of the living God (That's right.): laughed at, made
fun of all the time. So she had no clothes seemingly to clean up in when the
rancher's son come, the owner's son came. So that night, they had a great big
blow-out. And--and she had to stay back in back of the--the bunk house. And so,
when they all got out of the dining room from eating, why, she went in and got
all of the dishes and washed them. So it happened to be the--the owner, Mr.
Armour's boy, walked out at the back and was looking. And it was true, he was
looking for a sweetheart. He noticed that little girl, standing in there
washing the dishes. There was something about her that seemed real to him.
E-52
After a few days' visit, one night she was pouring out the dish water at
the back of the place, after a hard day's work, and she heard somebody say, "Good
evening." And she looked, and it was young Mr. Armour just standing there.
And she pulled the straw over her feet; she was bare-footed. And she bowed her
head; she felt ashamed. He said, "I've been watching you. And I have
found, to what I believe, that you are a virtuous young woman." Said,
"I'm out here," said, "I'm so sick and tired of that fancy
going-on of the city in Chicago
and so forth." Said, "I--I come out here to hunt me a wife." And
said, "You just meet that specification." Oh, her heart like to of
went... A man of that caliber? ask her, a poor little orphan to marry him?
That's about the way I felt one night when I got a invitation to come to the
wedding supper. "Want me? a man like me would--would have an invitation to
come to the Lord Jesus?" But He asked me. I--I was... I imagine just about
as--felt about like she did. "Who am I?" But He told me to come, and
I come.
E-53 Then he said to her; he said, "Now,
you make yourself ready. One year from this night, I'll be back to get
you." Said, "Will you marry me?" She said, "Well, it... Of
course I would. But" she said, "I'm not worthy." Isn't that
about the way you felt? "I'm not worthy, Lord." He said, "Don't
think of that. I'm not looking for clothes and things; I'm looking for virtue. And
I--I--I want you for my wife. Will you be?" And he kissed her. And you
remember when the Lord put that kiss on your heart, how you felt? Oh, my. Oh,
kissed away all my sins, and all my sorrows, and... He--He just made something
different. He--He--He said I could... I--I... He's going to bring me to the
wedding supper one night.
E-54
So he said, "Make yourself ready." You remember, the Bible
said, "And the Bride has made herself ready," in the robes of the
righteousness of the saints. You see? So that little girl only got seventy five
cents a week. But, oh, how happy she was that year. Just washing and singing,
saving every penny she could. Rest of them went to town and bought new packs of
cigarettes, and what more, you know, and their whiskey, and carrying on new
decks of cards, and had their big time. But she's just labored away. Why? She
was getting ready, making herself ready. And then finally, first thing you
know, she got to town, and she got the wedding garment, and got the money that
he sent her, and got the wedding garment, and come back. And did them little
cousins make fun of her. Ummmm. That's just about the way some of these cousin
denominational religion, social gospel, said, "You bunch of little
holy-rollers."
E-55
I talked to a girl here not long ago in Oregon. She said... She's belonged to
another denomination. And she said, "Well, what's 'tending your party? If
they ever... If they'd be the ones that would be in heaven, I wouldn't want to
be there." I said, "You won't have to worry very much unless you
change your attitude." See? I said, "You won't have to worry very
much." She said, "All that there screaming and carrying on." I
said, "Now, wait. You worship Mary. And the Virgin Mary, before God would
ever put the wedding garment on her, she had to go up the day of Pentecost and
get so full of the Spirit, till she staggered like she was drunk. You ain't
coming in anything less." Just remember that. Yes, sir. "And that
was, as you call, the mother of God." See? I said, "If Virgin Mary
had to go to Pentecost and get the Holy Ghost before she could ever go to
heaven, you'll never get in; anything less. Just remember that. That was the
Virgin Mary." "Oh, that isn't so." I said, "Do you believe
the Bible? Here it is. And Mary was right with them in the upper room. And she
got so full of the Spirit until she danced under the Spirit, acting like
somebody drunk. And you think you'll get to heaven anything less than that?
You'll never do it. Yes, sir. Virgin Mary and all the rest of them had to come
the way of the Lord's despised few." So... Yes, sir.
E-56
The people make fun, and they call them a bunch of idiots. Paul said,
"In the way that's called heresy..." That's crazy. See,
"heresy" is some "heresy, crazy, idiotic." Well, we are
called that, because the supernatural is so much different from the carnal
things of this world, till it makes people think they're crazy. They said...
Why, Paul said to Agrippa, said, "I'm not mad. It's..."
"Mad" means "crazy." "I'm not crazy, you think I am.
But in the way that's called heresy, I worship the God of our fathers."
That's the way I do too. I like that. "In the way..." I'd like to
join hands with Paul. I'd like to be there that day when I see him robed in the
righteousness of Christ, when I see him crowned. Hallelujah. I want to have the
same kind of robe on he had. That's the same kind my Lord wore. That's the
reason I'm not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, for it's the power of God
unto salvation. And tho--Gospel came not in Word only, but through power and
demonstrations of the Holy Ghost. That's the way the Gospel is. It's the Word
made manifest in our hearts.
E-57
Now, this little girl, she got ready. She didn't care what... They
laughed. Let them laugh if they want to. But she knowed that that kiss that
night meant a seal. And so did I, so do you, and every one that had that kiss
of the Lord Jesus, that give you the promise, you know what it means. You don't
care what the world says. If your cousins wants to make fun of you and say,
"You've lost your mind, and you're old fashioned," just go ahead;
that's all right. Make her no different, she just kept getting ready. So then,
finally come the hour, the sun was going down. So she robed her little self,
you know, and got all prettied up. Oh, my. That's the hour the Church ought to
be in right now: all robed in His righteousness, filled with His Spirit,
powered with His Being, walking in the Light, waiting for the coming of the
Lord.
E-58
There she was, got herself all ready, all cleaned and washed, and the
wedding garment on. And you know what? As it got closer, the more critical got
her little cousins. They said, "You poor little simple-minded thing, do
you mean to tell you that if--if the Armour's son would marry somebody, he
would marry somebody like us, somebody who would fit in his society, someone
who had education, who had some glamour about them." See, that's what the
Church thinks today. But how far off they are. That's right. Way off they are.
They...
E-59
And so, then after while, she... they... She thought he'd delayed. It
got later, later. And finally, they said, "Oh, where's he at?" That's
what they're saying today. "Where is that One. I heard that stuff forty
years ago, He was coming. Where's it at?" Didn't the Bible say they'd say,
"Where is that coming of the Lord. All things are just like it was from
the beginning?" We're living in that day, friends. Let's take courage now
while we're together this afternoon. Go out with a new courage. Go out to win
souls. Get ready. The coming's at hand. And the first thing you know, they all
got around her, begin to dance, little songs around her, said, "Oh, we'll
make fun of her," you know. And made the bride like they was pretending, a
bride. That didn't bother her. She watched the little old clock tick around.
First thing you know, it was just about one minute. Somebody said, "You...
I thought he was going to be here at such-and-such a time." "Don't
worry, he will be here," she says. That's all I want to know. He promised
He'd be here. That's all I want to know. He's coming; that's all. When, I don't
know. But He will be here.
E-60
Right while they were making the most fun, and saying the--all these
different things about her, and--and teasing her, and making fun of her and
everything, they heard the wheels a coming, horses hooves a beating, the old
grinding of the sand under the buckboard. My, my, she broke through those
lines. Out into the yard she went. Who was it? There he was, dressed. The
carriage was ready. She run through the little trellis at the end of the yard
like that. He jumped out of the carriage and grabbed her into his arms, and he
said, "Sweetheart, all year long I've had people watching you." Oh,
I'm so glad. The Holy Ghost: The eyes is on the sparrow, and I know He watches
me. "All year long, I've been watching you. I seen your virtues. I seen
the flirts of other men. I seen all of this, but I seen you were true. Oh, it
swelled my heart to know that the woman I was going to marry was true."
God, let that be our testimony, let that be our desire today. Live true to
Christ. Be true to the calling. Be true to the Spirit.
E-61
And he grabbed her in his arms, set her up in the buckboard, and turned
the carriage away, and on to Chicago.
Said, "You've worked and you've toiled, and your little blistered hands
will never be blistered again. The things that you've done without, you'll
never have to do without again. For one of the swellest homes that can be
bought on--on Lakeside Drive
in Chicago is
waiting for you. We're going to get married now and go live there in peace for
the rest of your days." I'm so glad that we might work and toil, and have
the spit of the outside, and the frowns, and the scorns, and everything, but
someday He will come. Oh, we'll be taken up with Him to meet Him in the air.
And those little old cousins just stood there and looked. Oh, some of these
days, we'll be caught away. God will catch away His Bride, them who are wearing the wedding garment. Let us bow our heads.
