4 Last week in the meeting, and, or week before last, in Phoenix, I
was telling about when I made my first trip to Phoenix. I remembered, as
a little boy, I watched and read everything that I could, because it
was my idea, someday… My father was a rider, and I wanted to be a
cowboy. I had read some Western magazines, and seen too many movies, as a
little boy. And, so, I had seen my father ride, and I thought surely I
could ride, too, and my ambition was to come West and—and be a rider.
64-0206B - Paradox
28 Put television out way it is now, an uncensored program of all this
vulgarity and everything, let a little boy go… The gate is the eye to
the soul… The eye is the gate to the soul, rather. Let him go in, and
let these little girls go into one of these movies, or something or
other, and see one of these here women out of Hollywood, with eight or
ten husbands, making love to some man. That little girl will practice
the ne-… the same thing the next day. Let some fantastic nonsense come
out, out there, with some kind of a little old scandal-looking skirts on
or something or other like that, and watch the American women go to
wearing the same thing. That's right. See, you catch each o-… What you
feed on.
57-0115 - God Keeps His Word
200 And now we've
come right straight back again, and here we sit this afternoon, on the
West Coast, where the sin barrier of all the powers of darkness heaps in
here. These movies and television casts, and man kissing women on
there, and poisoning the minds of little girls.

117 But look at it today, all these movies and things, and one big
conglomeration of kissing and hugging. And it's absolutely almost public
adultery, everywhere, and the people so blind they don't see it. Right!
Everything is in a Sodom condition, Sodomite everywhere, as the Bible
said
64-0618 - The Presence Of God Unrecognized
7 Now
Hollywood puts out lots of movies and—and televisions, and so forth,
that even uncensored, where they curse and—and—and use God's Name in
vain. And—and it used to be it was wrong for the children in the
holiness churches to go to—to—to bioscopes or picture shows, and now
Satan got one jump ahead, by bringing it right in the house, in the form
of television, and then uncensored, and—and so forth. And that's the
Satan's way of gradually entering in.
64-0215 - Influences
70 Here's what causes a lot of it: is our newsstands full of vulgar
magazines; our homes are full of pin-up pictures; our news screens are
never censored, they're wide open, can crack any kind of jokes or—or do
things that's terrible. There's no cleanness among us anymore. I know
you think I'm awful hard on that, but it… somebody's got to be hard on
it. It's just got to be done. When I was a little boy, I read the book
of Tarzan and the Apes. Mama had an old fur rug that Mrs. Wathen had
give her, laid before the dresser. I cut that thing up, and made me a
Tarzan suit, and slept in a tree for a week. I wanted to be Tarzan. Then
when I read the book of the Lone Star Ranger, I rode her broom stick
out, being a hobbyhorse, trying to be the Lone Star Ranger. It's no more
than what people will do; it's what you read, the music you listen to.
Go into a restaurant, and this old rock-and-roll… No wonder people are
going crazy. That's enough to drive a human being crazy.
59-1220E - Identified With Christ
117 Eve didn't mean to do wrong. It wasn't willfully. But she… The
Bible said, in Second Timothy, First Timothy 3, "She was deceived." And
deceived is not when you willfully do it. It's when you're deceived into
doing it. 118 And that's just exactly what's happened today. She's
been deceived, by television, by magazine, by these people, these, all
these fine things that they're going, out on the street. Modern girls,
they look at magazines and they look at pictures. They look on the
street. They see the clothing in the shops. How Satan, that great
instrument of—of hell, has come down amongst the people and deceived
them into these things! And the woman thinks she is all right. And she
is dead and don't know it. She is far from God. See how she lost all
this, and how subtle it was?

217 Take some of these old movie actors and get up here, married four
or five times, living with three or four different husbands at the same
time. And some of these magazines exposing them and tell them, taking
their pictures naked out here, and you little girls set that as your
example? Why? Because your mammy before you perhaps, your grandmammy
before you… You

comedians on television, and tell, and—and radio and things, are
whistling and singing, and cracking dirty jokes, and saying curse words
and awful things that should not even be allowed, and the whole
magazines and things are plastered full of naked, immoral women,
everything, trying to appease the mind, trying to quieten you. It
reminds me of a little boy whistling in the dark, going through the
graveyard, trying to make hisself think he's not afraid. You're scared
to death, and you know it. You know you're in for judgment, and it's
coming because you've blasphemed the Holy Ghost, and you've turned down
the resurrected Jesus Christ. Exactly. Their eyes are closed. They don't
know it.
64-0312 - When Their Eyes Were Opened, They Knew Him
194 Wonder, if we only knew the same thing! Have we got so wrapped up
in our organization, we're forbidden to even look at It? Wonder if you
look at the—the magazines and pictures, and old dirty filth of the
world, instead of reading your Bible like you should be? "Man shall not
live by bread alone, but by every Word that comes out of the mouth of
God."
